ABSTRACT
This study investigated the role of Adult Education Towards Curbing HIV/AIDS in Benin Metropolis. Inorder to achieve the objectives of the study, four (4) research questions were raised to guide the study. A descriptive research design was used for the study. A total of 100 learners were selected as sample size for the study. This was achieved by using a stratified and simple random technique whereby four (4) departments were selected and thereafter twenty five (25) students were selected from each of the selected departments using balloting system. The study found that young adults aged 18years and above who have limited access to health extension programmes are at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. Also, Adult education programmes can help curb the menace of HIV/AIDS by creating sensitization programmes for adults. The study further recommended that Non formal education need to be stepped up to enhance more enlightenment. In this regard, agencies like agency for adult and non formal education should be made more relevant to these needs. Also, the government should, as a matter of urgency, establish more adult education centers in Benin metropolis and in every Local government headquarter in the state.
