ABSTRACT
This study investigated the role of adult education in addressing the issue of unemployment in Oredo Local Government Area, Benin City. In order to attain the objectives of the study, four research questions were raised on which the study is centered. The population consisted of one hundred respondents (100), who will be selected by using a simple random technique, which comprises of Eighty (80) Adult learners at Pioneer center in Oredo local government area, while twenty (20) others will be selected at random. The research instrument is a questionnaire designed by the researcher and will be titled ‘‘The Role of Adult Education in Addressing the issue of Unemployment Questionnaire (RAEAIUQ)’’. The instrument was validated in the Department of Adult and Non-formal Education, of the Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City. The study highlighted the effectiveness and value of Pioneer Education Centre’s adult education programs in enhancing employability, meeting promises, and preparing individuals for the job market. The decision based on these findings is to continue supporting and investing in adult education initiatives at Pioneer Education Centre, as they are seen as crucial and beneficials to individuals and society as a whole.
