ABSTRACT

This essay examines the representation of satire in Femi Osofisan’s Midnight Hotel and Ola Rotimi’s Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again in other to deride the society that is characterized by corruption and sheer misconduct that is eating up the growth of the society.

       Satire has been used as a major in bringing out these various social ills tormenting our society. Osofisan and Rotimi , through these plays have achieved their aim of ridiculing these social vices through laughter while agitating for change. The surest way and most creative way to challenging these social ills is by way of laugher and this Osofisan and Rotimi has used humorous actions and language to portray the ills marauding the Nigerian Society.

      The playwrights objective in both plays is to establish a good governance and government and a well-ordered society in which development and social growth is observed and achieved.
