ABSTRACT
The study was designed to investigate the relationship between Membership of a Christian Fellowship and Academic Performance with special reference to the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State. The research focused on student’s studying religious studies in the University of Benin. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for this study. The population of the study comprises of 100 students and the sample is made of 30 students drawn from two faculties. In order to produce a guide, 5 research questions and 2 hypotheses were raised, the instrument in generating data was the closed ended questionnaire. The questionnaire which was made up of 20 items was validated by my supervisor. The questionnaire was administered by the researcher herself and the data generated from the administration was analysed with the use of tables and percentage. The findings of the study revealed that there is no relationship between membership of a Christian fellowship and academic performance in religious studies, and that Christian fellowship does not determine one’s tolerance of other religions.
