ABSTRACT
Population growth is a global phenomenon, but its influence is felt more in the less developed world. Population being the number of people in a place at a time could increase naturally or through migration. This increase in population regarded as growth takes different rates in different places. The rate of population growth in Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State is 3.2%, which determines the overall population size in the area. Today, Mushin LGA is an overcrowded residential area, with bustling commercial and industrial activities. This in turn had grave implication on social infrastructure. Sustainability of these infrastructures then becomes the question. The need for family planning cannot be overemphasized. From the sampled population, only 37% acclaimed to be practicing family planning. In a bid to sustain Mushin LGA and its infrastructure, family planning is being recommended by this study, having depicted the rate of growth as exponential using the Malthusian Exponential growth model.
