Summary

This study aimed at examining the Prospects of Heath Manpower Training and Development in health service delivery system, using a case study of Edo State, Benin City.

The essence of the study was to essentially examine the needs, contributions or otherwise of manpower training to the growth of an organization and how it is practiced in the public sector.

To achieve this aim, four objectives and three hypotheses were formulated. The four hypotheses were derived from the statement of the problems to facilitate the data analysis. The study was restricted to staff of the eight Local Government Areas of Edo State. The simple random sampling method was used to select 250 respondents from among the staff of Local Government Area; out of which only 170 participated actively. To test the hypotheses, data were collected with the aid of questionnaire; the data generated through the instrument were analyzed using the simple percentage. Related documents and literatures were utilized to elicit information for this study.
