SUMMARY
The study revealed that majority of the respondents had moderate level of knowledge of COVID-19 vaccine among healthcare workers in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. Also, majority of the respondents had a positive attitude towards COVID-19 vaccination as most trusted the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.
The level of uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine was poor as majority of respondents had not taken the vaccine. Age, cadre, religion and duration of experience of respondents, were statistically significant determinants of level of uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine. The factors that influenced COVID-19 vaccination were inadequate information on the vaccine, co-morbidities and the belief that COVID-19 is not real and previous infection confers immunity.
