ABSTRACT
This research study explores the portrayal of young people and drug abuse in the Nigerian video film "Brotherhood." The research population comprises 13,039,920 individuals, and a sample size of 400 residents was selected using a combination of simple random and purposive sampling techniques. The study investigates the depiction of drug abuse among young characters in the film, aiming to shed light on the representation of this critical issue within the context of Nigerian cinema. Through content analysis and thematic analysis, the research delves into the narratives, characterizations, and underlying messages regarding drug abuse in "Brotherhood." The findings of this study contribute to a better understanding of how Nigerian cinema addresses the topic of drug abuse among young people and its potential influence on public perception and awareness.
