Summary

 This research deals with the study of the various phonological process that exist in the Owan language using the Ibadan 400 basic word list.

  In chapter one of this research, the language (Owan) was introduced along with the research topic. In this chapter we discuss how the data were collected, using Ibadan 400 basic wordlist as a tool and informants who are the native speakers of the language are the respondents.

  Chapter two discuss the literature review, works which had been done in time past on Phonological processes and the present study of the phonological processes in Owan language.

  Chapter three of this research discuss the data presentation and how the data are presented. The data are presented according to the phonological processes evident in the language, which includes; Nasalization, Glide formation/tone shift , and vowel elision.

  Chapter four consist of data analysis, how we analyzed our data before we arrived at our findings, in the data analysis we adopt the Auto-segmental Phonology as our theoretical approach, which we use in analyzing the data. From the analysis, it can be derived that the Owan language exhibit various phonological processes.

  Chapter five which is the last chapter of this study engulfs the summary, conclusion, recommendations of the study, and it’s references.
