ABSTRACT

The paper examined examine the perception of student towards online learning during the covid-19 pandemic; a case study of some university of Benin students. Employing convenience sampling technique, 200 respondents were selected randomly to represent the sample. The data collected were analyzed using frequency counts, simple percentages.

The study revealed revealed that majority of the respondents indicated high level of ICT skills and competencies is needed for online learning. The study revealed revealed that poor internet services, erratic power supply, inaccessibility to online library resources and limited access to computer were the major perceived challenges to effective online learning.

The study recommended programs should be done for the enhancement of staff productivity and improvement of the level of computer literacy amongst staff and students as well as the establishment of an efficient and effective student/staff information management system accompanied with the development of a robust ICT architecture that will support current and future ICT needs for students.
