SUMMARY
The term conflict can be said to be “a struggle and a clash of interest, opinion or even principles, such as cultural values. It is the escalation of a disagreement, which is its common prerequisite”. To put simply, conflict is a state of disagreement and according to Agbefe, conflict pervades the entire spectrum of human existence, and not all conflicts are violent and leads to crisis, suggesting that crisis is the violent end of conflict, which is a situation of intense and grave danger. This therefore implies that the Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja crisis has brought grave consequences which has reflected negatively on the lives of the people of these communities. In an attempt to understand and resolve the crisis, the need to look into the cause of the crisis was necessary.
