The work researched into the origin and history of the Makossa and Afro dance, the cultural background of the Duala people where the Makosssa dance originated from. The methodologies used in sourcing for information involved consultation of books, journals and internet source articles, which were related to the topic of study and also the Artistic/Experimental research method which involved creating a dance script, auditioning, rehearsing with the dancers, teaching them the movements and staging a dance production using the Makossa and Afro dance movements. The research concludes that dance is a creative form of art that captivated and showcases its Artistic beauty through body movements, and for this creative to be achieved, it requires somethings different from the normal trend people are used to, bringing to the audience a new style of dance through the fusion of Makossa and Afro dance.
