ABSTRACT
This paper intends to analyze the detrimental effects of insecurity on economic growth in South East Nigeria using IPOB as a case study. In addition to having a direct impact on the populous, it also has an impact on the economy. The study examines its effect on economic metrics using aspects of descriptive qualitative analysis and secondary data. The research used Group theory, and inherent approach methodology to investigate these concerns. Its outlines and discusses the issues with separatist movements and how they affect both national and regional security, and makes the case that the federal model has failed in the Nigerian context. It delves into the fundamental problems that underlie the Biafran movement and how those problems, together with Biafran agitation, are deleterious to the region's advancement.
