Abstract:

This study uses the Leontief inverse of the matrix and the Rasmussen technique to examine the connections between the Nigerian construction industry and other economic sectors. The input-output transaction table for every sector was supplied by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the CBN Statistical Bulletin for 2010, which served as a source of data for the research. The input-output table presents all economic activities inside the economy in an easy-to-understand and rational manner. The study's findings indicate that there are both strong and weak forward links between the Nigerian construction industry and other economic sectors. The results imply that in order to increase the construction sector's capacity and provide the vital infrastructure required for economic development, productivity must be increased through the proper mechanisms. Since they are crucial to the expansion of the sector, the government should also concentrate on creating policies that encourage the growth of businesses that provide intermediate goods and services.
