ABSTRACT

This study titled “The Interrelationship Between the Igbanke and Bini People was aimed at examining the relationship between the Igbanke people and the Bini people. This has become necessary due to the wrong understanding associated with the history and tribe of the Igbanke people as a result of their language. The method employed was historical and descriptive. Data collected was from both secondary and primary sources which includes interview with indigenes of this communities. The study revealed that irrespective of their language which was acquired through marriage to the Ika people by the first immigrants, the Igbanke people have their root from Bini kingdom which was as a result of mass migration of the Bini people from Benin. Based on findings it was recommended that everyone should know about the Historical origin of the Igbanke people as well as their similarities with the Bini people such as culture, religion and others. Also lots of seminars that promote historical knowledge should be promoted at schools, irrespective of the State.
