Six specific objectives and six research questions were formulated to guide the study. The study adopted the use of the information theory by Gibson (1974) as the dependent variables (library environment) and the role theory by Robert Merton (1957) as the independent variables (collection management practices|). Descriptive survey research design was adopted as the research design; while the population of study was 81289 academic library users. Convenience sampling technique was used as the sampling technique with a sampling size of 150. Questionnaire were selected as research instrument and a validation of the questionnaire was carried out by the project supervisor. A total number of 150 questionnaires were giving to the respondents with which a total of 142 were found valid and usable in making a total of 95% which is arguable a significant representative. Moreso, data collected were analyzed using the descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation to give answers to the research questions. The output of the results indicates that the entire work environment is spacious and neat but there is inadequate lighting, ventilation, ICT, and furniture in selected academic libraries in Edo State. Therefore, it is recommended that Stakeholders and library management should invest in adequate work environment facilities in academic libraries in Edo State.
