ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to evaluate the influence of the use of calculator on students’ performance on projectile motion, the study aimed at determining the average performance of students in the test on projectile motion, determining the percentage performance of students who used calculator in the test on projectile motion in physics as well as find out the percentage difference between the male and female student performance in the use of calculator in projectile motion in physics test

A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study; the population was the students in Evbotubu, Uwelu and Useh Senior secondary school in Egor LGA of Edo State. A simple random sampling technique was used to selecting 75 respondents which was uised represent the total population for the study. Data was collected using a test questions of 5 items.

The following findings emanated from the study; that Physics student have poor understanding of projectile motion, that many physics students can handle a calculator while solving, that female physics students have more performance in the use of calculator in projectile motion than their male counterparts. Based on the findings and conclusions made, the following recommendations are offered; school management should ensure that qualified teachers are employed to teach students Physics so they can effectively handle d subject, government should make provision for good materials that can help facilitate a better learning process for students and also a good and conducive environment for students to learn better.
