ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to obtain information on the Influence of Social Studies on the Moral and Value development of Primary school pupils in Ovia Northeast, Edo state. The quest to find out how much of an influence the teaching and learning of social studies content can affect the growth and development of morals and values of primary school children necessitated this study.
To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised, which ask questions such as Does Social studies influence the moral and value development of primary school children? To what extent does the curriculum of social studies form the foundation of the moral and value development of primary school children? What is the influence of social studies on the moral and value development of primary school children?
This study employed a survey research design. The targeted population of the study comprises of five (5) public primary schools and a sample size of 50 students was selected using the simple random sampling technique. A research questionnaire was constructed and distributed among the participants. Data collected were analyzed using a simple percentage analysis.
