ABSTRACT
The aim of this project is to explore the influence of parenting on the academic performance of pupils in public primary schools. The role of parents in shaping a child's educational journey is crucial, and understanding the factors that contribute to academic success is vital for creating effective strategies to support children's learning and development. This study examines the various parenting practices, and behaviors that can impact a child's academic performance. It examines how parental involvement in a child's education, including monitoring homework, providing educational resources, and engaging in school-related activities, can positively affect their academic outcomes. The study also explores the influence of socioeconomic status and cultural factors on parenting and its effect on academic performance. By recognizing the diverse backgrounds of families and their unique circumstances, interventions and support programs can be designed to address the specific needs and challenges faced by pupils from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing research, this project aims to provide valuable insights into the influence of parenting on the academic performance of pupils in public primary schools. The findings from this study 10 will contribute to the development of evidence-based interventions and strategies that can promote positive parenting practices, enhance parental involvement in education, and ultimately improve the academic outcomes of pupils.
