ABSTRACT

This study examined the influence of parental care on the academic performance of preschool pupils in Benin metropolis.  A descriptive research design was adopted for this research work and a total of two hundred (200) respondents participated, who were drawn using a random sampling technique across the various schools. A four-point likert-scale questionnaire was used for data collection. Findings on the research showed that there is significant relationship between parental care and pre-school pulpils outcome. It also showed that children with adequate parenta care performed better academically compared to their peers who did not receive such cares. Similarly, it was also discovered that the socio-economic status of parents is a determinant factor on how their children or ward perform in school.
