ABSTRACT

This research explores the influence of movies on young people's beliefs, opinions, and behavior, with a focus on assessing movie exposure. Using the Uses and Gratification theory and Social Cognitive Theory as frameworks, the study found that movies significantly shape respondents' beliefs, impact decision-making, and challenge existing values. To mitigate potential negative effects and harness positive influences, recommendations include integrating media literacy education, promoting diverse and positive content creation, fostering collaborative guidance by parents, educators, and policymakers, encouraging exposure to varied movie genres, cultivating self-awareness, and celebrating positive role models. This study contributes valuable insights to empower young individuals to engage with movies critically, making informed choices in an increasingly media-saturated world.
