ABSTRACT

The use of modern technology in theatre has revolutionised the way directors approach producing plays, altering audience interactions, creative processes, and aesthetic possibilities. This research explores the ways in which technology has revolutionised the director's art, looking at how it affects staging methods, narrative development, and the theatrical experience as a whole. This study examines the development of digital tools and procedures in the field of play creation, investigating the relationship between technology and theatre through a synthesis of theoretical frameworks. Directors are faced with never-before-seen opportunities to experiment and communicate creatively with audiences, from the introduction of multimedia scenography and interactive set up to the growth of online platforms for performance documentation and livestreaming. This study clarifies the aspects involved in incorporating technology into the directing process through the analysis of a case study and the collaboration between director and designers to ensure a successful play production
