ABSTRACT
Marital violence against women is a prevalent issue in Oredo Local Government Area, impacting the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of victims. This study examines the influence of marital violence on women in Oredo Local Government Area and explores social work intervention strategies to address this pressing concern. Through interviews and surveys with victims and social workers, the research highlights the various forms of marital violence experienced by women, including physical abuse, emotional manipulation, and economic control. The study also sheds light on the barriers that prevent women from seeking help, such as fear of retribution and social stigma. Social work intervention plays a crucial role in supporting and empowering victims of marital violence through counseling, advocacy, and resource mobilization. By establishing partnerships with local organizations and government agencies, social workers can facilitate access to services and create a safe space for victims to share their experiences. Overall, this research underscores the need for comprehensive and culturally sensitive approaches to address marital violence in Oredo Local Government Area. By raising awareness, providing support, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders, social workers can contribute to a more equitable and inclusive society where women can live free from violence and fear.
