ABSTRACT
This study investigates the Influence of Leadership on Socio-cultural violence among youths in Benin Metropolis. A sample of one hundred (100) youths participants in the study area were used for the study. 50 participants were selected from the two local government area through simple random sampling techniques. The questionnaire was the major instrument used for the study and was designed and validated by experts in the department of Adult and Non-formal Education, Faculty of Education University of Benin. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques such as tables, frequencies counts, and percentages Findings of the study revealed that to a high extents, youths in Benin Metropolis are involved in socio-cultural violence. It was also revealed that the causes of socio-cultural violence among the youths are; unemployment, poverty, electoral manipulation, godfatherism and the killing of their fellow youths. It was further recommended that Creation of job opportunities to reduce youth restiveness and participation on socio-cultural violence. It further recommended that Creation on more awareness on the effects of godfatherism and their influence on youth participation in socio-cultural violence.
