ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of job performance and job satisfaction on administration effectiveness in the University of Benin. The objectives of this study are to know how job performance and job satisfaction of administrators influence the effectiveness of an administration and to examine the factors of job performance and satisfaction and its contribution to administrations effectiveness. This research used a descriptive survey design. The target population for the study consists of 2625 administrators within the University of Benin. A sample size consisting of 100 administrative staff was used for this study. The simple random sampling technique was used to select four faculties out of sixteen faculties in the University of Benin. From which 25 administrative staff were selected randomly. The research instrument used to collect data for the study was a structured questionnaire designed by the researcher. The validity of the instrument was ascertained by the researcher’s supervisor. The findings revealed that the relationship between job performance and satisfaction influences administration effectiveness. Based on this findings, the researcher recommends regularly assessment of administrators’ satisfaction level, performance metrics and administration effectiveness indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
