ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of instructional materials on the effective teaching and learning of Economics in Public Senior Secondary Schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. Three research questions were raised. Samples were taking consisting of one hundred (100) respondents which comprised one hundred (100) Economics students i.e. twenty (20) students from each of the five (5) selected schools. Questionnaires were administered to collect relevant data. Simple percentage was used to analyze the research. The study revealed that, instructional materials have influence on the effective teaching and learning of Economics in public senior secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area. It was recommended that all parties involved in teaching and learning should make relentless efforts in resolving all the factors and problems associated with the instructional materials used in teaching and learning of Economics.
