ABSTRACT
This research was designed to investigate the influence of class size in the ef ective teaching and learning of biology in senior secondary schools in Oredo Local Government area in Benin-city, Edo state. The sample for this research work consists of one hundred randomly selected respondents. The researcher adopted the simple random techniques in selecting the respondents. To guide this study, five research questions were raised and questionnaires were used to collect data and thereafter, analysis was carried out using percentage method. Based on the analysis, some findings were out by the researcher and conclusion made. In the end, some recommendations were drawn out which include that; the state government should build more classrooms in all schools, there is the need for regular inspection of schools by the Ministry of Education especially the government owned schools in the state and there is the need for class size reduction in public secondary schools so as to have a greater opportunity for individual interaction between students and teachers in a small class.
