ABSTRACT

The emergence of transformative technology has either made and marred aspects of life including education. As Nigeria strives to address the issues bedeviling her educational system especially tertiary education to enhance quality learning outcomes. Researchers have argued that the integration of artificial intelligence can be a long waited solution to the facilitation innovative teaching and learning methodology. This work examines the implications of artificial intelligence on the quality of education in Nigeria and to determine of the ise of artificial intelligence alleviate the structural and institutional challenges of the Nigerian educational system. This study adopted both primary and secondary sources of data collection and quantitative research design was deployed .Systems Theory, Constructivist Learning Theory was used in the course of the research to buttress the points and hypotheses were analysed using simple percentage method. The findings of this study shows AI has positive and negative impacts on the quality of education in Nigeria. Also recommendations was made as a solution how to correct the negative impacts of AI on the quality of education in Nigeria using University of Benin as a case study.
