ABSTRACT
This study investigates the impact of theatre management on audience experience, using the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Benin, as a case study. The aim of this research is to find out how house management can influence audience experience in the theatre. Drawing on theories of audience reception, service quality, and the experience economy, the research examines how different management practices influence audience perceptions and satisfaction. A mixed-methods approach, including literature review,, and audience surveys, was employed to gather data. Results indicate that aspects such as facility cleanliness, staff professionalism, and marketing strategies significantly affect audience experiences. The study concludes by discussing implications for theatre management, suggesting ways to enhance audience experiences and improve overall engagement.
