ABSTRACT
This study focuses on the impact of the rise of Barack Obama on the Black Lives Matter movement. The first chapter gives a background to the topic of dicuss, giving a brief insight on what to expect from the other chapters in the book. the Aims and Objectives of the study are also listed on this chapter and they include: An examination of the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, Obama's administration and the Black Lives Matter movement and the Impact of Black lives Matter on the socio-political changes in America. The scope of the study is also pointed out in the first chapter; it covers the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement from 2009 to 2017 the period of which constitudes the administration of Barack obama as US 44th president and also the period that saw the emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement. The methodology applied to the study is also listed in this chapter to include the use of research method, which would examine the origin of black lives matter movement taking its root from 2009 – 2017 and the history of Barack Obama will also be examined within this time frame using this method through consultation to Books, Newspapers, Journals, Articles, online publications and unpublished works.
