ABSTRACT

This study examined the impact of social media addiction on the reading culture of students in secondary school in Egor LGA, Edo State; with the focus of actually ascertaining how impactful the trend of internet addiction among students in secondary school in Egor Local government Area have become and how often students use the internet for educational purposes The main objective of this study was to examine the impact of social media on the reading culture of secondary school students in Egor LGA, Edo State. Sub objectives includes to; examine the impact of social media platforms on the reading culture of secondary school students in Egor LGA, Edo State, assess the impact of social media on academic performance of secondary school students in Egor LGA, Edo State, determine whether social media have effect on the desire to use the library in schools sin Egor LGA, Edo State, examine if electronic devices and data speed have its impact on the level of interest and time spent online by secondary school students in Egor LGA, Edo State.
