ABSTRACT
This project examines the profound impact of sculpture on African history and proposes a strategy for integrating sculpture education into vocational and technical educational programmes in Africa sculpture has played a vital role in African cultural heritage serving as a means of expression, communication, and preservation of cultural values. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and case studies, this project explores the historical significance of sculpture in African societies, it’s influence on art and it’s potential to promote cultural preservation and economic empowerment. The population of this study was 40. The Instrument for collecting data was a strictured questionnaire which was developed by the researcher and validated by the researcher's supervisor and two experts from the department of Vocational and Technical Education. The realizability coefficient bof the Instrument was 0.791 using cronbach Alpha statistics. Research shows that sculpture had a profound impact on African history. The study also reveals that the inclusion of sculpture curriculum in the Vocational and Technical Educational program will enhance students technical skill and overall creativity. To this end the research recommends that sculpture education should be incorporated into existing Vocational and Technical Educational programs in Africa. Also, the government should partner with local artisans and sculptures to provide practical training, mentorship, and industry connections ensuring students learn from experienced professionals.
