ABSTRACT
This study was investigates impact of school environmental on students academic performance among senior secondary school in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, the four (4) research questions put were raised to guide the study:
The sample size for this study was a total number of Five Hundred and Fifty Seven (557) respondents within the area of the study. Which represent ten percent (10%) of Five Thousand and Five Hundred and Seventy Four (5574) students from government senior secondary School selected using a simple. Questionnaire was the major instrument used for data collection. Questionnaire was the instrument used to elicit information from the respondents. The questionnaire were designed and validated by experts in the department of Adult and Non-formal Education Faculty of Education, University of Benin. Data were analysed using descriptive statistical techniques such as table, frequencies counts, and simple percentages.
Findings of the study revealed that that school climate contributes to students’ academic performance among senior secondary schools in Egor.
It was also revealed that school physical facility influence students’ academic performance in senior secondary schools in Egor local government area of Edo State. It was recommended that government should provide adequate school physical facilities in primary schools to enhance teaching and learning processes
It was further recommended that the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), philanthropist and other charitable organizations are also implored to compliment the effort of the government to boost academic achievement of secondary school students
