ABSTRACT

This study examine the impact of remuneration on job satisfaction in small and medium scale enterprises. The study was seeking to investigate the following research objectives; to examine the extent to which remuneration affects job satisfaction, employees’ performance and productivity in small and medium enterprises in Benin City. The population included all small and medium scale enterprises in Benin City. The sample size consisted of 92 participants obtained through a purposive sampling in the different small and medium enterprises that were used for the study. Descriptive analysis (frequency and percentage) was use to analyze respondents data gotten through administered questionnaires. The findings established that remuneration plays an essential role in job performance, help to retain good employees and contribute to a good working environment in small and medium enterprises. In view of these findings, every organization should endeavor to know what appeals most to their workers and also, there should be adequate remuneration mix that suits the needs of employees so as to get the best of them.
