ABSTRACT
This study looked into how the time after COVID-19 affected academic activities at Nigerian universities, with an emphasis on the University of Benin. The study's goals are to determine how well informed students at the University of Benin are about the COVID-19 pandemic; to analyze how students have responded to the aftermath of the pandemic; to analyze how students' academic performance has changed; and to evaluate how the crisis has affected extracurricular activities at the university. The survey method was used in this study. All 60,000 students at the Benin City, Edo State campus of the University of Benin make up the study population. This study's sample size consists of respondents drawn from the study population via a combination of purposive and judgmental selection methods. A questionnaire was sent to those who agreed to be part of the study sample in order to compile the data. Out of a total of 1500 surveys sent out, only 1496 were returned. The Chi-Square test was used to determine if the presuppositions were reasonable, and the frequency distribution and percentage analysis were used to investigate the data. The study found, among other things, that University of Benin student performance suffered after the spread of COVID-19. There were also suggestions for new policies, including one that would help students at the University of Benin make better use of online resources for their studies. They need to look at the benefits of online education.
