The objective of this study is to find out the impact of Orphanage Home on a child’s development, does a child’s stay in Orphanage home affect the child’s behavior, is a child in Orphanage home introverted in behavior and is a child in Orphanage home extroverted in behavior. The population for this study consists of all orphanage homes in the Oredo Local Government District and includes social workers, sociologists, psychologists, rehabilitation counselors, and orphanage counselors. A sample size of 60 respondents was used for this study. The descriptive survey design was adopted for this study and the research instrument was a questionnaire which was used to gather vital information related to the purpose of the study. Simple percentage and frequency count was used for data analysis. The findings that emerged were that, the orphanage home plays a significant role on children’s development especially when the  workers are well-trained in care giving and when the environment is in good condition, negative attitudes from orphanage home workers and inappropriate care giving can make an orphan introverted and show poor personality formation, positive attitudes from orphanage home workers and proper care, communication, protection and attention can make an orphan cultivate proper personality traits, and introversion and extroversion are complex, multi-faceted personality constructs. Therefore, workers should help orphans embrace their various unique traits and improve on being better individuals. It was therefore concluded the orphanage home plays a great role in the life of the orphan’s personality development. It was recommended that: the Federal government through the concerned ministry should be more involved in the activities of the orphanage homes, the staff of the orphanage homes particularly the nannies and care givers should undergo basis training in child psychology or early childhood care which will increase their level of knowledge in taking care of the younger children.
