ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of nutrition on labour productivity in Nigeria. Gross domestic product per person was used as the dependent variable as a proxy for labour productivity, the explanatory variables used in this study include; final household consumption as a proxy for nutrition, per capita income, government expenditure on health. The study employed annual time series data from 1991 - 2018, using Least Squares method. It was discovered that final household consumption as a proxy for nutrition has a negative impact on labour productivity, per-capita income has a positive impact on labour productivity and also government expenditure on health has a positive impact on labour productivity. It was recommended among other strategies, that government should employ policies that will increase the disposable income of the household which will further increase the final household consumption leading to an increase in productivity.
