ABSTRACT

Landscape architecture plays a pivotal role in shaping the physical environment of a city, affecting the well-being and quality of life of its residents. In the case of Benin, a city located in Nigeria, the non-availability of landscape architecture has significant implications for its residents. This study explored the consequences of the absence of landscape architecture in Benin and its impact on the daily lives, aesthetics, and overall well-being of the population. Benin, like many rapidly urbanizing cities, has witnessed considerable growth and development in recent years. However, the absence of landscape architecture in urban planning and design has resulted in several negative outcomes. In a city where space is often at a premium and green areas are limited, the lack of effective landscape architecture is acutely felt by residents.
