ABSTRACT
This study investigated The Impact of information Repackaging in the Era of Information Communication Technology in John Harris Library, University of Benin, Benin City. The study adopted descriptive survey research design in sampling the opinions of users and staff of John Harris Library in Edo sate. The population of the study was six thousand one hundred and twenty nine (6,129) registered library users and one hundred and sixty eight (168) staff of John Harris Library. Through multistage sampling technique, 100 respondents of the population were selected and seventy-five (75) questionnaires were retrieved for the study. The instrument used in this study for the collection of data is the questionnaire. A questionnaire entitled “impact of information repackaging in the era of information communication technology in John Harris Library (IIREICTJHL). The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Frequencies were used in analyzing the bio-data of the respondents; statistical mean. The findings from analyzed include: that the level of influence of information repackaging in the era of information communication technology is on x a high side, basically majority of the respondents have a vast knowledge of information repackaging because it is easily handle with effectiveness and efficiency, the application for information repackaging also save time and reduce the work force of human labour to achieve its objectives. Based on the findings, some recommendations were made which include: More digital librarians should be produced from library schools in Nigeria. This requires the review of library and information science curriculum to incorporate IT and related areas in Nigerian library schools.
