ABSTRACT
This study was designed to identify the impact of information brokerage in the management of information resources in Nigerian libraries. Five research questions were raised and analyzed for the purpose of the study. The descriptive survey research technique was adopted for the study and a wellstructured questionnaire was used for data collection. A total number of one hundred and seventy-three (173) library staff in the John Harris Library at the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo state was used for the study. The result analyzed from the study revealed that; services carried out by information brokers in Nigerian libraries include indexing and abstracting, editing , publishing and translation and others, that the extent to which information brokerage is utilized for the management of Information resources in Nigerian Libraries is to a high extent, the impact of information brokerage promotes professional information service, helps to foster rapid acquisition of library materials in the management of information resources in Nigerian Libraries and challenges affecting Information brokerage in Nigerian Libraries include Inadequate funding and power supply, inadequate of trained information brokerage professionals and so on.
