ABSTRACT

This study examined the impact of ICT on student academic performance, a case study of some of the Universities of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. This study adopted the simple random sampling technique in the universities. Two hundred questionnaires were questionnaires distributed within to student within the school. The principal tools for analysis of data are carried out with the help SPSS version 22 software and multiple regression analysis. The results reveal that, there is a positive relationship between ICT and student learning performance in Nigerian universities, ICTs offer great opportunity for student to solve learning problems, the study further concludes that there is positive relationship among factors influencing the adoption of ICT (personal characteristics, organizational capacity, support factor and availability factor) and Teaching and learning in Nigeria university. In the light of the above conclusions, the study recommended that Nigerian universities should improve its organizational capacity (i.e. funding and infrastructures) among the factors that influences ICT adoption in Nigerian universities. In addition, Nigerian universities should continue to promote the uses of ICT for teaching and academic performance of student.
