ABSTRACT
This research is work is a study on the impact of globalization on architecture in Benin city. The study critically studied the need for the emergence of globalization in Nigeria architectural practices. The research covered one study areas in Nigeria, Edo state. Two case study was carried out from the study area. The first case study is the Egedege N’Okaro, Benin City, Edo State and The National Museum of Benin City, Edo building located, Benin City, Edo state. The purpose of the study was to investigate the impact of globalization in Benin City's changing architectural scene and cultural preservation while embracing the opportunities provided by globalization .This study carefully attempted to meet its research aim and objectives as stated in the first chapter of this dissertation work. The literature reviewed contains important historical facts about globalization and its impact in architectural practice in Benin city, Edo state, Nigeria. The various building typology of the the Egedege N’Okaro, Benin City, national museum, Benin city Edo state the features and values of these architectural style, this study also reviewed different ways on how globalization has affected the building. For research methodology and a way of gathering data, on site field trip was carried out on the above mentioned case studies while both offline and online references was made from literatures and websites respectively.
