ABSTRACT
The study examined the impact of e-Governance on public sector financial management and accountability in Edo State. The study adopted the survey research design and three hundred and fifty-six copies of the questionnaire were administered to staff in the office of the accountant-general, Information and Communication Technology Agency and internal revenue service in Edo State. E- Governance tool employed such as Oracle Hyperion, Oracle Financials, e-memo manager and Edo Revenue Administration System was used to proxy e-governance in Edo state civil and public service. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used to summarize and draw inference on the study. The regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses of the study. The result of the inferential statistics revealed that Oracle Hyperion, Oracle Financials, e-memo manager and Edo Revenue Administration System have positive and significant impact on public sector financial management and accountability in Edo State. The study further recommended that government agencies not yet on e-governance tools should quickly embrace the emerging technologies to reduce financial mismanagement in their operations.
