ABSTRACT
This study investigated the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on sustainable development in Nigeria. I examined various CSR initiatives and their effects on economic, social, and environmental aspects of sustainable development. Data was collected through a combination of surveys, and analysis of CSR reports from Nigerian. I assessed the extent of CSR engagement and its influence on sustainable development indicators over a specified time period. Findings revealed that companies actively involved in CSR initiatives contributed to economic growth in Nigeria. Job creation, local business support, and skills development were notable outcomes, leading to enhanced economic sustainability. CSR initiatives fostered better community relationships, improving social stability and quality of life for local residents. Education and healthcare programs were particularly effective in positively impacting social development. Companies that prioritized CSR showed a commitment to environmental sustainability. Their efforts in reducing carbon emissions, promoting responsible resource management, and conservation activities contributed to cleaner and healthier environments. Based on findings made, I encouraged a broader CSR participation among businesses in Nigeria, especially in sectors with significant environmental and social impacts. Develop clear regulations and reporting standards for CSR activities to ensure transparency and accountability. Promote collaborative efforts between the private sector, government, and civil society to maximize the impact of CSR on sustainable development. Corporate Social Responsibility plays a vital role in advancing sustainable development in Nigeria. It has a positive impact on economic growth, social well-being, and environmental conservation. Companies should embrace CSR as an integral part of their business strategies to contribute to a more sustainable future for Nigeria. This study underscores the significance of CSR in addressing Nigeria's sustainable development challenges. Companies that actively engage in CSR activities demonstrate a commitment to the well-being of society and the environment, and this has the potential to drive positive change and lasting impact in the country's development efforts.
