ABSTRACT

The "Impact of Cashless Policy on Trading in Benin City" is a comprehensive study that explores the ramifications of the cashless policy implementation in the dynamic trading landscape of Benin City, Nigeria. A total of 100 questionnaires were distributed among traders, with 93 successfully retrieved, forming the basis of this research. This study delves into the multifaceted effects of the cashless policy on trading, focusing on aspects such as financial inclusion, security, convenience, and the perception of various cashless mediums of exchange. Through a thorough analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, the research unveils the evolving landscape of trading practices in the wake of cashless transactions. The study finds that there is positive impact of cashless policy on trading in Benin City and large number of traders have adopted cashless policy. The study suggest that policymakers and stakeholders should continue to collaborate in refining and optimizing the cashless policy framework. This should involve addressing connectivity issues, conducting targeted awareness campaigns, and ensuring that the policy remains adaptable to the evolving needs of traders and consumers.
