Laws are made to govern man actions with man. For ensuring that the activity of one man for the sake of maximizing profits do not become injurious to another person or to the entirety of the public, the need for consumer protection becomes but necessary. The agencies meant to enforce the protection of consumer has over the years carried out their functions by inspecting registered companies while leaving the informal sector or the unregistered associations untamed. This in reverse has imbued in the minds of members of this unregistered organizations the ability to carry its activities without recourse to relevant statutory and constitutional provisions.

It is the submission of this exposition that the activities of these unregistered organizations which has been proved to be against the interest of consumers can only be curb if the government start the fight against obnoxious products from our local markets by instituting bodies who will enforce consumer rights from the local level.
