ABSTRACT

This research is concerned with the impact of absentee parent on child’s academic development in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The investigation aimed to address three research questions, with all three thoroughly addressed and subsequently subjected to testing. The research employed a descriptive survey design, with the study's target population encompassing teachers, within pre-primary educational institutions, in both private and public sectors, located within the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. For the purpose of this study, a sample size of 150 respondents was randomly selected from a pool of five teachers per school. This selection included a balance of 30 schools among public and private schools within the specified geographical area. A questionnaire titled "The impact of absentee parent on child’s academic development in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State," was employed as the primary instrument for data collection. The collected data underwent analysis utilizing statistical measures such as frequency counts and simple percentages.
