ABSTRACT
Music has always made a huge part of human culture. The initial purpose of music videos was to create an outlet in which artist could expose their music to a wider audience and establish themselves as distinguishable public figure. It is therefore terrible that music videos of hip hop music genre have superseded its original purpose to serve as publicity for the artist, most music videos are highly saturated with sexual content that exceedingly focus on the masculine perspective with the use of video vixens. This study examined the frame in which video vixens are portrayed in music videos. This study aimed at checking the negative influence of video vixens on female adolescent sexual behavior. The researcher employed the purposive and stratified sampling techniques. The technique were used for data gathering with the questionnaire as the instrument of data collection. From the undergraduate students of the university of Benin population, findings from the survey revealed that excessive sexual content in music videos affect female adolescents sexuality negatively. Majority of the respondents were not against the use of vixens in music videos but suggested that sexual videos scenes should be watered-down. The research recommended that video vixens should be used when absolutely necessary.
