ABSTRACT
The research examined the impact of workforce emotional intelligence in the organization, with the UNIVERSITY OF BENIN in Edo state serving as a case study. The survey research design was used in the study. Using the convenience sample approach, fifty (50) respondents from the UNIVERSITY OF BENIN in Edo state were chosen as research participants. A self-structured questionnaire was distributed, and thirty (30) of the questionnaires were recovered and validated for the study. The data was presented in the form of a frequency chart and a table, and it was analyzed using mean to offer responses to the study questions. The Chi-Square statistical software for social science was used to evaluate the hypothesis. Further research reveals that the degree of importance placed on emotional intelligence in UNIVERSITY OF BENIN stated hence that organizations should seek strategies to develop employee emotional intelligence through training and seminars. Since a result, the study proposes that businesses conduct frequent Emotional Intelligence programs for employees in order to improve their personal, professional, and methodological performance, since this would increase organizational commitment.
