ABSTRACT

This experimental study investigates the impact of different mold types on the mechanical properties and durability of concrete. Concrete, a widely used construction material, relies on precise casting methods to achieve desired strength and durability. Molds, as an integral part of the casting process, can potentially influence the final characteristics of concrete structures. In this research, three distinct mold types—steel molds, plastic molds, and various wooden molds—are employed to cast concrete specimens. Compressive strength and tensile strength tests are conducted on concrete samples produced from each mold type. The objective is to determine whether the choice of mold material affects the immediate mechanical properties of the concrete.Surface finish, roughness, and texture of the concrete specimens are analyzed to assess any influence of mold types on the aesthetic and functional aspects of concrete surfaces. The results of this study aim to provide valuable insights into the significance of mold types in concrete production, helping researchers and practitioners make informed decisions regarding mold selection for specific construction applications. The findings may contribute to optimizing concrete casting processes for improved structural integrity, performance, and longevity. Moreover, the research underscores the importance of considering mold materials in the design and engineering of concrete structures, ensuring their durability and sustainability in diverse environmental conditions.
